FRANKFURT, GERMANY
24 Hours in Frankfurt
http://www.wallpaperspictures.net/

Germany's Manhattan, Frankfurt is a hub of finance and business. In fact, since the 13th century, the city has been used a centre for trade. I was in Frankfurt for 24 hours attending a trade-fair for leather goods: Messe Offenbach.

What makes Frankfurt stand out is that on side you see modern skyscrapers, and on other beautiful traditional houses that will take your breath away. In fact, as I scrolled down the streets, I was mesmerized how tradition mixed with modernity, and houses that are built still preserved some of the 'old'feel. I highly recommend a weekend visit.

Stay: If budget is no issue, my favourite place to stay is Villa Kennedy (part of Rocco Forte hotels). The rooms are tastefully decorated, the staff is attentive, and the location is superb.

Do: Visit Berger Strasse for  window shopping or cafe'/bar hopping on a sunny afternoon. With tables outside during the warmer months, there is a place for just about every type of person: from the stylish sekt drinker to the more casual radler fan. To get there, take the U-Bahn to Merianplatz.

Also, Frankfurt sits strategically near some of the best vineyards in Germany. Wine festivals grace the area around Hauptwache and the Main several times during the year, offering locals and visitors fine rieslings that range from the dry to the mildly sweet.

Eat: Cafes on Berger Strasse, or for a delicious dinner, head out to Neuer Haferkasten (owned by a charming Italian, who comes to every table).

GUIDE TO THE TURKISH RIVIERA
Bodrum, Bodrum

Back from beautiful Bodrum, and here is a list of my favourite places in Bodrum.

Stay: Kempinski Bodrum is a five star luxury resort in Yalikavak. It is a secluded property amidst beautiful greenery with its own sandy beach. It is my favourite place to stay, and if you have a car, the party spots are only 30 minute drive away, or you can always get a taxi/private transfer that the hotel will be more than happy to assist you with. If you want to stay right in the party spot, then MacaKizi Hotel is a place I would recommend. Since it is a party spot, be prepared for a much noisier atmosphere than what Kempinski has to offer. Recently, Aman Resorts has opened AmanRuya in Bodrum, located in Torba. It is famed for its interior design (and the Thai restaurant is fantastic), however what I did not like was the fact that it is not right on the sea. Each villa has its own pool, but since Bodrum is famous for its beautiful and turquoise sea, I personally prefer sea to pool.

Do: Party in Turkbuku in ShipAHoy, cocktails in Macakizi or Bianca Beach, Xuma Beach is another favourite spot for sunset drinks and dancing. Swim all day long, rent a yacht, sail, or lounge and watch the beautiful surroundings.

Shop: There are small boutiques in Turkbuku, and street bazaars where you can shop for souvenirs from local artisans. Bodrum also has boutiques in the central part of the town (called Barlar Sokagi), but I would stay away as it is extremely crowded and prices are way over the top.

Eat: Kocadon is the best restaurant in all of Bodrum. Saigon Club in Kempsinki is good for a romantic dinner, and the Thai restaurant in AmanRuya also has an amazing chef. However, my most favourite restaurant is Kocadon.

FAVOURITE POEM
Love After Love
http://rubypr.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/one-true-love.jpg

I want to share my favourite poem with you by Derek Walcott.

LOVE AFTER LOVE
The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

FLORENCE, ITALY
Giardino della Gherardesca
https://d1xejl9xcsndu9.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/european-luxbride-twitter-chat.jpg

I discovered this magical garden unexpectedly, during my visit to the Four Seasons in Florence. The garden provides a home to this beautiful hotel, and was made in the 18th century. It has paths, shrubs, majestic trees, a temple, tomatoes, chili peppers, and when I visited a rare exhibition by a renowned Italian sculptor by Ugo Riva.
