Paul Klee - Making Visible

Paul Klee is one of the most prolific artists of the twentieth century. The recent exhibition at the Tate Modern contains work from almost every stage of Klee’s career, giving us a glimpse into the artist’s exciting, varied and rich world. There are 130 works distributed through 17 rooms, with optical tricks, jokes and surprises, and it is not only a big exhibition in terms of size, but also richness.

Klee’s art has a purpose, in addition to being beautiful and entertaining. He wanted every single of his works to be autonomous, and in his most well known aphorism said “the point of art is not to reproduce the visible, but to make visible”.

Paul Klee Exhibition is at the Tate Modern, until March 9th

CELEBRATION AND INSPIRATION
Merry Christmas from London

This yearI am spending Christmas with my friends and loved ones in London, at the Dorchester Hotel. I call London my playground, and it is a source of inspiration and creativity for me. Manolo Valdes, Pera Museum
A Day of Inspiration and Art

This weekend was the last day of Manolo Valdes’s exhibition at the Pera Museum in Istanbul. One of Spain’s most celebrated contemporary artists, Valdes was inspired and recreated works from Lichtenstein, Matisse, Velasquez, and Zurbaran, using his own distinct language. His works are instigated from masterpieces of the past, bearing historic clues of colors and textures with robust references to art and its history. It was truly a delight for the eyes and the soul, and what really stood out for me was his use of colour. The bright pops of orange mixed with royal blue, pale pink juxtaposed with dark blue, and shades of blue in his nude paintings is what really stood out for me.
